Witnessed a Chasing scene yesterday after work. I was walking along far left side of the overhead bridge when I saw a guy running super fast along the far right hand side of the bridge in the opposite direction. I was puzzled why is he running so fast during this time when there's so many people on the bridge (after-work), then just as he's about to cross my line, another guy popped out running behind the first guy shouting "stop that guy"! It was then I realised that the first guy had probably snatched the 2nd guy's bag cos the first guy was clutching a bag but the 2nd guy is empty handed. I stopped in my path, and turned back to see whether is there anyone who will help to stop the 1st guy...but nobody did. It was such a crowded overheadbridge with at least 3 person walking side by side but people simply stepped to the left to get out of the 1st guy's path and the 1st guy had not much problem running past this bridge! I remembered feeling angry at the guys behind me cos they would have time to react after they heard the 2nd guy's shouts but I, on the other hand did not cos by the time I heard his shouts, the 1st guy was already past me. I would have gladly sticked out a leg to trip him over.
Then, many of us loitered around to watch the chasing scene from afar (the 2 of them have already ran far far away) and we could see the 1st guy dashing across the road and stumbling over the fences along the middle intersection of the road. At this point in time, many of us cheered. But then, he was quick to stand up again and stumbled again on the road, and then ran off. Meanwhile, the 2nd guy was struggling to climb over the fence. And then, I couldn't see what happened liaoz cos view blocked by trees. haiz...
While I was waiting for the MRT, I contemplated whether to call the police, but the thing is, what would I say? I don't really know what happened, I don't know the road name, I don't know the block number which the 1st guy ran towards...so how constructive would my call be? Therefore, I didn't make the call.
